Anne Schaefer is a genre-defying Canadian musician, composer, singer-songwriter and facilitator whose creative path connects classical discipline and boundary breaking innovation. With a foundation in classical training - piano, violin, guitar, voice - her early years were steeped in composition, structure and refined musicality. That foundation expanded into songwriting, where personal voice and poetic storytelling first took root.
Her journey then deepended with jazz at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) Jazz Performance program, where Anne developed as a Jazz vocalist know for her rich tone, improvisational fluency, and expressive nuance. This era marked the beginning of her signature style: fearless genre-blending that draws from world music, classical forms, contemporary song craft, and improvisation.
Her first studio albums, "Twelve Easy Pieces" and "The Waiting Room" (generously funded by the Canada Council for the Arts) were received with critical acclaim and garnered awards for “Artist of the Year” Island Music Awards 2004 and 2005, and “Songwriter of the Year” Island Music Awards 2005. Her following self-engineered and self-produced albums, "Earth and Stone" and "Light" explored her multi-instrumental and artistic flexibility as she created two lush and magical records as the only contributing musician and composer, creating every song, playing every instrument and providing every voice.
Alongside her musical path, Anne has devoted 15 years to training in Core and Cellular Energetic Healing with spiritual teacher, healer, and seer Ger Lyons. This deep apprenticeship informs her work as a facilitator, where she weaves sound, voice, improvisation, and energetic healing into potent spaces for awakening, expression, and inner transformation.
Her recent artistic evolution explores ancient musical lineages through the Ancient Greek Lyre, composing and performing contemporary works that merge mythic resonance, modern songwriting, and the healing intelligence of sound.
Anne’s life work and music is a bridge — between musical traditions and cultures, between the seen and unseen, and between the human voice and Divine Spirit - anchored in dedication and fueled by love, curiosity, vision and spirit so that we may remember our authentic living connection to our selves, our Creator and our innate creativity and truest nature.

Room" — Tim Bennett, Mojo Junction (Australia)
